Centenary Jamboree on the INternet

Summary

Centenary JOTI is an opportunity for Scouts and Guides to communicate with other Scouts and Guides from around the world using the Internet. It takes place over 20-21 October 2007 - the same weekend as Jamboree on the Air (JOTA).

Idea/programme

Using e-mail contacts and chat room providers Scouts, Guides and their Leaders can use JOTI to make new friends just like those who attended the 21st World Scout Jamboree in Hylands Park. There will be opportunities to exchange badges, programme ideas and make life long Scouting and Guiding friends from around the world.

Aims/objectives

The key aim is to open up the World Scout Jamboree experience to as many people as possible using technology to promote skills sharing and international friendship.

Audience

Open to all – there are specific safety procedures in place to ensure that the event is both safe as well as fun and the organisers encourage the practice of the Scout Law on the internet at all times. See www.joti.org for more
