Gilwell SunriseSummary

Gilwell Sunrise will enable Scouts and Explorers to join Hylands Park and Brownsea Island with the celebrations for the Centenary of Scouting. After renewing their Promise, they will have the opportunity to enjoy the activities that make up Gilwell Adventure.

Idea/ Programme

This will be a day visit to Gilwell Park and will only be available on the 1 August 2007. Participants will arrive at 07:30 and congregate on the Training Ground where the ceremony will link to Hylands Park and Brownsea Island for the renewal of the Promise and Centenary celebration.

From 09:30, participants will take part in the many activities across Gilwell including Challenge Valley, mountainous activities and motion-based activities. After a short break for lunch, the activities will continue until 16:30 when the participants depart.

Aims & Objectives

To allow Scouts and Explorers to feel a part of the Centenary celebrations. A fun day out including adventurous activities for Scouts and Explorers.

Audience

Up to 4,000 participants on site. Scouts and Explorers within the age range 10 – 18. UK and Scouts from around the world.
