Summary
Reunion 57 will be an event for participants of the 1957 Jamboree at Sutton Park, Birmingham. They will have a chance to relive old memories at the original Jamboree site, as well as experience today's Scouting at the 21st World Scout Jamboree in Hylands Park, Essex.
Idea/ Programme
This will be a three day, two night programme (staying at University College, Cambridge). The tours will run every day from 27 July 2007 until 7 August 2007, with each tour being released gradually to ensure maximum uptake on each tour. The programme is as follows;
Day 1: Visit to Gilwell Park. Lunchtime reception
Day 2: Visit to 21st WSJ, Hylands Park, Essex. Gala Dinner at a Cambridge College.
Day 3: Visit to 1957 WSJ site at Sutton Park, Birmingham. Hosted by local Scouts- opportunity to find key locations from the original site. Picnic lunch, tea & coffee.
Aims & Objectives
The main aim of Reunion 57 is to give long-term Scouters an opportunity to be a part of the Centenary Celebrations. This event will promote international relationships and give the participants a chance to compare Scouting past and present.
Audience
There were 31,000 participants that attended the 1957 WSJ. We are looking at maximum numbers of 1,800 participants (9 tours x 200 participants).
