Summary
Gilwell Winter Camp 2007 will be held between the 5th and 7th January 2007 and will be the first major camping event during 2007 – it is an activity camp that is open to Explorers and Scouts between the ages of 10-18.
Idea/ Programme
The event is part of a regular series of major events at Gilwell Park, and runs as an activity camp in a turn up and try style. The event aims to bring new activities to Scouting each year, for example 2006 brought zorbing and Robogeddon to over 2500 Scouts. The 2007 event will bring another set of new activities to Scouting as well as tried and tested favourites including climbing, abseiling, shooting, archery, fairground rides, crafts, disco and many others.
Aims & Objectives
The aim of the event is to ensure that as many Scouts and Explorers get the chance to try activities that they may not necessarily be able to as part of their normal programme. The event also encourages mixing between the Scout and Explorer sections.
Audience
There are approximately 98000 Scouts and 25000 Explorers within Scouting in the UK, this is the prime target audience for Winter Camp 2007. We expect approximately 2500 young people to take part in 2007.
