Prohibited Campsites

Campsite/Area Reason for Prohibition
   
Blyth Valley District: Coastal areas including Seaton Sluice. Coastal areas subject to erosion and tidal waters.
   
Hadrian District: Houxty island at junction of North Tyne and Houxty Burn; Gold island, Wark. These islands are subject to sudden flooding.
   
Hadrian District: Chipchase Island on North Tyne. Liable to be cut off when river in spate.
   
Mid-Northumberland District:
Area covering sand dunes south of the mouth of the River Aln at Alnmouth to Birling North Farm and Warkworth.  
Area between Birling North Farm and Warkworth, Amble UDC campsite
Coastal area, unstable and subject to tidal waters.
   
Tynemouth and Whitley Bay Districts: Coastal areas. Coastal areas subject to erosion and tidal waters.
   
Wansbeck District: Cresswell Foreshore and Newbiggin Moor. Coastal areas subject to erosion and tidal waters.
