- For steams, pools, ponds and gravel pits not classified above application is to be made to the County Water Activities Adviser or permanent classification. For short-term use a RYA instructor or a BCU Level 3 Coach may classify the water.
- Only canoes and kayaks are permitted to enter weir streams. All craft should stay away from face of weirs.
- Weirs with anti-scour cills are prohibited to all canoes and kayaks
- Weirs shall be assessed at the time of use by a BCU Level 3 Coach
- Canoeists wishing to use a weir pool shall seek permission from the Regional Navigation Inspector Environment Agency. Thames Region, Kings Meadow House, Kings Meadow Road Reading, RG1 8DQ (020 8953 5000)
- General information on the conditions of water leverl (other than Locks) may be obtained from the Regional Navigation inspector at the above address. Water conditions at weirs can be obtained from lock-keepers.
