Summary of Job
To undertake a planned programme of building, plant and equipment condition surveys across the Association’s properties, infrastructure and grounds. Produce clear, concise and detailed reports identifying areas requiring improvement and any necessary remedial actions in conjunction with the Head of Estate Services.
Manage of a number of capital and major maintenance projects across the National Centres valued between £10k and £100k.
Provide practical maintenance support to Operational Managers and other duties as required.
The Association’s property portfolio is located across eight sites around the country and consists of approximately 180 buildings of various size and complexity, which contain in excess of 2,500 fixed assets. The properties include Grade 2 Listed buildings, Conference and Training Centres, Activity Centre accommodation lodges, a Warehouse and Delivery centre and modern air conditioned offices.
About you
Ideally you will be a qualified RICS Building Surveyor (BTEC Level 4 HNC in Building Studies may be considered), experienced in Condition Survey reporting and have detailed knowledge of Health and Safety policies and procedures. Additionally you will have knowledge and experience of building services infrastructure, building and plant repairs and maintenance procedures.
You will have good communication skills and be used to liaising with managers and peers to reach targets and agreed work plans. With a positive ‘can do’ attitude you will be able to prioritise your workload and be willing and able to work at heights to undertake accurate surveys and deliver clear and concise written reports to a high standard within agreed Service Level Agreements.
You will have experience of scoping, estimating, costing and managing multi discipline projects valued between £10k and £100k requiring a range of specialist and technical skills.
A driving licence is essential for this position.
