2008 is another Centenary year for Scouting - it's the 100th birthday of Baden-Powell's Scouting for Boys and of the birth of local Scout Troops all across the UK.
2008 is also the Centenary of Scouting right across the world - happy 100th birthday to Scouting in Australia, Canada, Ireland, Malta, New Zealand and South Africa!
So let's celebrate our grass-roots creativity this year, shall we?
Fantastic news! We have set a new Guinness World Record, with our 30,006-hand Scouting handshake! Congratulations everyone!

The GBLHS is the largest single piece of collaborative artwork Scouting has ever produced, anywhere in the world, ever! It's also one of the largest collages anywhere in the world, and certainly the largest in the world made out of cut-out hands!
It symbolises two important things - the international friendships made and kept through Scouting, and a generation's hopes for peace in Scouting's next century.

If you want to borrow the collage (whole or part) for an event, you can. Just contact the e-mail address below.
Please think carefully about your display venue (dry and secure), the logistics of collecting and returning the sheets to and from Gilwell Park, and the transport cost. There are over 500 sheets of A1 paper in total - you need to decide how many sheets you want to borrow.
It's Big...
