What is Cub Scouting ?

Alice – Cub Scout

“I joined Cubs two years ago because my friends wanted me to see how much fun it was. I was made to feel really welcome and have made lots of friends from outside my school – they are all very funny!

The best thing about being a Cub is going to camps and playing with friends. We play games like dodgeball and also do fun activities that go towards a badge like Chef, Camp and Book Reader.

I would recommend Cubs to anyone – we have a lot of fun and I know when I move up to Scouts we will do even more camping.”

There are loads of fun things that you can do as a Cub Scout. You will get a chance to try lots of different activities like swimming, music, exploring, computing and collecting. If you do them properly you will get a badge which you can wear on your uniform.

Cub Scouts also get to go on trips and days out, to places like the zoo, theme parks or a farm. Sometimes you will be able to go camping with the rest of your Pack. This will mean you sleeping in a tent and doing loads of outdoor activities.

How do I join Cub Scouts?

If you want to take part in the fun of Cub Scouting, we will give you details of Cub Scout Packs near you if you ask one of your parents to fill in this form.
