The Horniman Museum was set up in 1897 by Frederick Hormiman, a man who wanted to show the world what interesting things he had collected from around the world. Today, there is something for everyone. See African wooden masks, Egyptian mummies and Japanese shadow puppets before heading to the gardens where you can pet the animals in the miniature zoo and see the museum’s very own aquarium.
