Team building and training

Team Building PDF

Put your boots on, it's going to get muddy...
Most team building and training events benefit from a practical element, and this is where Gilwell Park really comes into its own.

Our team is on hand to ensure that your group can enjoy a safe, challenging and exciting outdoor experience. Across our 110-acre site, we can stage almost any activity you can think of, from canoeing to shooting, swimming to orienteering, high ropes challenges to pedal go-karting.

Gilwell's outdoor, heated swimming pool is available for use and is open from Easter until the end of September. A fully qualified lifeguard is always on duty while the pool is open.

Another of our most popular features is a custom made climbing wall, which offers a range of climbs suitable for the novice to the experienced mountaineer. Supervision is included with fully qualified and experienced instructors.

We know team building is about more than just activities
The Scout Association has acquired an excellent reputation for corporate team building days at Gilwell Park, with 'blue chip' clients including Britvic, BT and BAE. We have in-house trainers and facilitators that can be brought in to complement or build on your existing training needs.

We provide a balance of three things: an outdoor environment, an indoor theoretical approach and an emphasis on applying the skills learnt in the workplace. We do not offer a commando course, nor a stale lecture theatre environment, but rather a balanced programme where groups have an opportunity to work together as a unit.

The outdoor element of the courses normally involves a practical task, such as moving your group across an area of water without getting wet. But this is then linked to a key concept, in this case, managing a team and its resources. We teach team-working skills, promoting the contribution each member, as well as leadership skills.

Talk to us about your needs and our training team can create an event to suit you.
