Scouts can kick for kids with cancer
CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading children’s cancer charity, has invited Scout Groups around the country to join in with it’s ‘Kick for Children with Cancer' campaign.
Throughout the spring and summer of 2008, they will be running ‘Kick for Children with Cancer' events throughout the UK.
After the success of last year’s events, with over 80,000 young people taking part in sponsored footballing events, they wants Scout Groups to join them in organising fun football themed events.
Taking part is simple as CLIC Sargent provides everything you need, right down to the footballs. The event can be anything you want as long as it involves a football. You could hold an event such as a penalty shoot out, beat the goalie tournament, keep-up challenge, fancy dress football match or even a fun day/sports day.
Organising one of these events is just a great way to not only getting the young people in your Group active. It’s also a great way to raise some funds for your Group, as you get to keep 25% of the money raised, with the other 75% helping children with cancer.
CLIC Sargent sends out a free event pack to Groupd who register, containing everything they need to take part, including footballs, pumps, banners, stickers, event ideas and sponsorship forms.
