Scouts support Amnesty's Stop Violence Against Women campaign
At last summer’s 21st World Scout Jamboree, thousands of Scouts and Day Visitors from around the world made worry dolls to show their concern about the treatment of women in Guatemala.
Guatemala is home to the tradition of placing a worry doll under your pillow before bed to take your worries away. Guatemala is also where 19-year-old law student Claudina Velásquez was murdered in August 2005 - and her killers have not yet been brought to justice.

Amnesty sent a selection of the worry dolls Scouts made at the World Scout Jamboree to Jorge, the father of Claudina Velásquez, as a welcomed show of solidarity in his struggle for justice for his daughter.
Amnesty also sent worry dolls and a CD containing images of every single worry doll made at the Jamboree with a letter to key figures in the Guatemalan government, asking them to bring Claudina's killers to justice and take action to help stop violence against women.
