UNICEF wants Scouts for Young Activists
Did you know that every minute of every day, one child dies and four children lose a parent because of AIDS-related illness? Globally there are around 33 million people living with HIV, with around 73,000 of these are in the UK.
The UNICEF UK Youth Team are putting together a group of young people aged 18-24 to advise and help shape their campaign on HIV, AIDS and young people. They are looking for Scouts to join the group, which will especially focus on reaching out to more young people in the UK.
The group will also be supported to take some real action to make a positive change. They’ll be getting out there and active – connecting with other young people and inspiring them to learn more and take action.
The group will work together for about a year and meet face-to-face a few times. In between those times we’ll keep in touch online and on the phone.
More information can be found on the UNICEF UK Young campaigners website or on their Facebook group .
