'My daughter is one in a million'
A proud mum has nominated her daughter for a local award for the things she does for Scouting, the community and her family.
Debbie Tindal, from South Shields, Tyne and Wear, describes 14-year-old Laura as ‘the best daughter a parent could wish for’.
She said: ‘She's a Young Leader at a Beaver Scout Group and also helps the council's sports development team at an after-school club. She regularly attends a girl's football club and has got many others to join too.
‘On top of all that, she is a member of her school choir and helps out with babysitting duties while I attend college. She really is one in a million.’
Laura, who has been nominated for a Pride of South Tyneside Award, also helps to look after her brother, Harry, seven. Debbie, a single mum, has put her daughter forward in the 'Role Model of the Year' category.
