Scout Community Week - In-store briefings

Information briefings in store during Scout Community Week will give people the opportunity to find out more about how they can become involved in Scouting.

If you would like to promote Scouting in this way, please contact your Sainsbury’s Store Manager to arrange a mutually convenient time and location for the presentation to take place.

In order to alert people to the start time and location for the briefing, please tell your local Media Development Manager (MDM) to ensure that the event is publicised as widely as possible in the local press. If you do not have their contact details, call the Scout Information Centre on 0845 300 1818. 

We suggest that you keep the presentation to a maximum of 20 minutes and allow time for questions after. You should ask representatives from your area to host the event and ensure they inject their passion for Scouting into their speech.  You may also wish to demonstrate a few fun Scouting skills and try to get some audience participation.

Material to help you

A flyer, which has space for local information and can be handed out in store to advise people about the event. Thjis is a PDF form that allows you to add your Location, time, and date by selecting the text and typing your own.

A PowerPoint presentation with basic information about Scouting, as well as details of the benefits of joining for both young people and adults.

Remember to record the details of any interested people and ensure these are followed up as quickly as possible.
