Sainsbury's Scout Partnership

The success of the Sainsbury’s supermarket at Eurojam in 2005 has led to the biggest corporate tie up that The Scout Association has ever had.

The partnership between Sainsbury's, the Scouts and the new youth volunteering charity v consists of a number of different projects over a period of three years and aims to increase the number of volunteers in Scouting (particularly those aged 16-25) as well as help Scout Groups fundraise and improve their presence in local communities.

These projects include:

• The collection of Active Kids vouchers
  Collect Sainsbury's Active Kids vouchers and redeem them against items such as camping equipment and outdoor games. Find out more.
• Increasing the number of people in the Young Leaders' Scheme
  14-18 year old's can choose not only to belong to Explorer Scout's but also to help out with either Beavers, Cubs or Scouts as a Young Leader. The Scout Association is working with Sainsbury's and v to increase the number of Young Leaders. Find out more.

• Recruiting Volunteers through Sainsbury’s employees and customers
  The Scout Association has embarked on an exciting 3-year project with Sainsbury's and v to promote volunteering opportunities to young people aged 16-25. Find out more.

• Scout Community Week at Sainsbury’s stores – 3rd to 9th October 2007
  Between 3rd-9th October, Scout Groups will be invited to raise money and awareness of what Scouting is about in 400 Sainsbury's stores nationwide. Find out more.
