Scouts work with Save the Children to end child poverty in the UK
An exciting new partnership between The Scout Association and Save the Children means excellent programme ideas for you and your Troop.
In November 2006, Save the Children launched a campaign to end child poverty in the UK, and they would like Scouts to join their effort to bring over 3 million children in the UK out of poverty.
We have worked together to create some Scout Section programme ideas that aim to raise awareness about the campaign and this alarming issue. You can find these on Programmes Online, the award-winning programme planning tool. Search POL for ‘Save the Children.’
There are also some excellent webpages on the CBBC Newsround website that tackle the issue of child poverty.
For more details about the campaign, and how your Scouts can get involved, visit the Save the Children website.
