Our Guide to the High Ropes

High on the highropesHow to do it

You have to listen carefully to the instructors at all times and then tackle each of the different obstacles as they come. And try not to lose your head (beware if you scared of heights!). The activity itself is quite strenuous but it's a lot of fun.

What you need

You need to wear a good strong pair of boots, keep your safety helmet and harness on at all times, and your safety ropes clipped on.

How we got on

We managed all the obstacles but they were difficult. The hardest obstacle was when a group of four of us scaled to the top of a wobbly pole and then had to stand on top of it, link hands and lean back. It was difficult to build-up the trust required. Very scary!

Out rating ( out of ten )

Fun : Ten out of ten

Difficulty : seven out of ten

You can try this at some Scout activity centres and campsites.
